Grant
Upon purchase, the Licensor grants the Licensee a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use the dataset(s) included in this bundle for the purposes described below, subject to the restrictions that follow.
Ownership
The dataset, including its selection, arrangement, curation, taxonomy, synthetic questions, explanations, and tagging, is the sole and exclusive property of Stravoris. Stravoris has expended significant resources in compiling, curating, and producing the dataset. This license grants the Licensee the permissions described herein but does not transfer ownership of the dataset or any intellectual property rights in it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Stravoris.
Permitted Uses
- AI/ML model training - You may use the dataset to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and benchmark machine learning models, including commercial models.
- Internal research and development - You may use the dataset for internal analysis, experimentation, and product development.
- Model distribution - You may distribute models whose weights were influenced by training on this dataset. The trained model is your product - this license does not restrict it.
Restrictions
- No redistribution of the dataset itself - You may not share, resell, sublicense, publish, or otherwise redistribute the dataset files (parquet, JSONL, or any derived tabular format containing the questions) to third parties, whether in original or modified form.
- No dataset-as-a-service - You may not expose the raw dataset content through an API, quiz interface, or other mechanism that allows third parties to systematically access the questions and answers.
- No misrepresentation of origin - You may not claim authorship of the dataset or remove attribution to Stravoris.
Enterprise License
The Enterprise tier includes an expanded grant: Licensee may embed the dataset in products that are redistributed to end users (e.g., bundled with a model package or included in a training pipeline sold to clients), provided that the dataset is not separable from the product as a standalone download.
Termination
This license remains in effect perpetually unless terminated. The Licensee’s rights under this license terminate automatically upon any material breach of its terms, including unauthorized redistribution of the dataset. Upon termination, the Licensee must cease use of the dataset and delete all copies, except that models already trained on the dataset prior to termination are not affected. Termination of this license does not entitle the Licensee to any refund.
What This License Does NOT Restrict
- The content of models you train on this data
- Your ability to publish benchmarks, evaluations, or research findings derived from using this data
- Your ability to describe, reference, or cite this dataset in publications
- Internal copies within your organization for the licensed purposes above
Attribution
Portions of the source material are derived from MedMCQA, released under the Apache-2.0 license, which permits commercial use with attribution. Stravoris questions are expert-curated, expanded, and quality-screened on top of that foundation.
Disclaimer
The dataset is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. The licensor does not warrant that the dataset is error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
This dataset is intended for AI/ML training and research purposes. It is not intended as a substitute for professional medical education, clinical decision-making, or medical advice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stravoris’s total liability arising out of or relating to this license shall not exceed the amount paid by the Licensee for the dataset. In no event shall Stravoris be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, arising out of or relating to the use of the dataset, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Governing Law
This license is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under this license shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
